Meet Our Team
As Kentucky natives, the firm’s founding members are fully engaged in positively impacting the community and, most importantly, their clients’ lives. Each attorney at CBS Law will give every case the personal attention it deserves.
Shea graduated from McCreary Central High School in 1990 and was awarded a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky in 1994. While at U.K., Shea was elected president of the student body and served on the U.K.’s Board of Trustees. During law school, he worked for Hon. Mary Noble, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Kentucky, and received a Juris Doctor from the U.K. College of Law in 1997. After graduation he joined the U.S. Justice Department in Washington D.C. He later moved home to Kentucky and served as a staff attorney for the Fayette County Legal Aid Society and then as an Assistant Fayette County Attorney.
Shea is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Joe graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington Kentucky. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in 2005 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2008. He worked in Washington, DC for Sen. Mitch McConnell and clerked for the Governor’s Office of General Counsel. He worked with his mentor, Hon. Peter Perlman, until opening his own practice in 2011.
Joe is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts in Kentucky.
Tom graduated from Lexington Catholic High School and then attended the University of Kentucky. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the U.K. College of Engineering in 2004 and a Juris Doctor from the U.K. College of Law in 2008. After law school he served as a judicial law clerk in Anchorage, Alaska. Tom started a private practice in 2011 which later merged into Chaney Buckles Szczygielski PLLC.
Tom is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Alaska Bar Association and the Florida Bar. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
His surname is pronounced “Sig-el-ski”.
